How Spark Birds handles personal information
This policy explains how Spark Birds may collect, use, store,
share, retain, and protect information in connection with the
mobile app, Full Access purchases, uploads, community features, AI
features, notifications, community safety, and customer support.
Information we may collect
- account details such as your email address and sign-in information
- profile information and optional user-submitted content
- uploaded photos, audio, comments, reports, and support messages
- device, app usage, crash, and troubleshooting information
- notification and nearby-alert preferences
- location-related inputs where permission has been granted
- App Store or Google Play purchase, trial, restore, and subscription status used to unlock Full Access
- guest or signed-in account type, so we can apply the correct feature access
How we may use information
- operate, secure, and improve Spark Birds
- authenticate users and manage sessions
- process uploads and provide bird predictions
- provide bird-identification and bird-question features
- support moderation, reporting, and community safety
- verify Full Access trials, subscriptions, restores, and lifetime entitlements
- respond to support requests and investigate misuse or fraud
How information may be shared
Spark Birds may share information with service providers and
trusted technology providers where reasonably necessary to operate,
secure, support, or improve the service. This can include providers
that help with hosting, storage, notifications, sign-in, analytics,
customer support, community safety, and in-app purchases. Apple
and Google process payments for Full Access. Spark Birds does not
receive your full card number. Spark Birds may also disclose
information where required by law, where reasonably necessary to
protect the rights, property, or safety of users or the service,
or in connection with a corporate transaction.
Retention
Spark Birds retains information for as long as reasonably necessary
to operate the service, maintain security, investigate abuse or
fraud, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce
policies and agreements. Retention periods can vary depending on the
type of information and why it is needed.
Your rights and choices
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights
to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of,
or objection to certain processing of your personal information. You
may also manage some permissions, notification preferences, and
certain account controls directly through Spark Birds or your device
settings.
Children’s privacy
Spark Birds is not directed to children under the age at which they
may lawfully provide consent to data processing in their
jurisdiction without parental or guardian involvement. If you
believe a child has provided personal information contrary to
applicable law, contact support so the matter can be reviewed.
Changes to this policy
Spark Birds may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time to
reflect changes to the service, legal or regulatory requirements, or
how information is handled. The current version becomes
effective when posted unless a later effective date is stated.
